Maximizing the Utilization of Every Resource — Special Feature Report on "Quality Month" (Part 1)

In the golden autumn of September, the 49th National "Quality Month" has arrived as scheduled.

At Huahong Technology, quality is never merely a slogan displayed on a wall; rather, it is embodied in every process we handle, every verification step we undertake, and every pair of hands we use to refuse to settle for less.

In this issue, we first turn our attention to the front lines of resource recycling.

1.Within a scrapped vehicle lies the expertise of precision and purity.

When a scrapped motor vehicle enters the facility, every stage—from chassis number verification and hazardous waste sampling to complete vehicle dismantling and resource sorting—impinges upon safety, environmental protection, and economic efficiency. The quality of dismantling can ultimately be summed up in two words: "precision" and "cleanliness."

Accurate inspection constitutes the first critical safeguard of quality. When dealing with end-of-life vehicles of varying conditions, errors or omissions in information can undermine the entire traceability system. Front-end verification of weigh-in data is particularly crucial: it requires meticulous examination of whether the vehicle is intact, and whether key components—including the three-way catalytic converter, ABS pump, lead-acid battery, and power battery—are fully present. Just last month, a colleague at Beijing Huahong tasked with verifying weigh-in data intercepted a BYD new-energy vehicle that appeared "normal" —complete with all four doors and two covers—yet its overall weight was markedly lower than expected. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the vehicle owner had privately removed the power battery. This precise inspection capability not only prevented asset loss but also ensured compliance at the factory acceptance checkpoint.

Thorough disassembly is the ultimate benchmark of quality. The technicians responsible for dismantling the wiring harnesses must venture into the cramped, sweltering cabin, leaning over and reaching in to cut each wire at its base and extract it. Every additional centimeter of wire cut allows for one extra unit of copper to be recovered; every additional reach enables one fewer wire to remain in the vehicle. It is this unwavering commitment—embracing the effort and leaving no blind spot—that ensures every piece of metal and every wiring harness is properly sorted, thereby safeguarding recyclable resources from irreversible damage.

"Accuracy" and "purity" are not one-time, permanent standards; rather, they are habits upheld day after day. On the path to a circular economy, quality serves as the vigilant scrutiny during factory registration, the meticulous verification before the weighing scales, and the steadfast persistence of reaching out in high-temperature compartments—it is with you and me, walking alongside you and me.

2.Ganzhou Huazhuo: One sample secures 2.4 million yuan

In neodymium-iron-boron waste recycling, the initial waste sampling stage serves as the first critical checkpoint for ensuring raw material quality and mitigating operational risks.

Recently, while conducting routine sampling, Wei Yuejian, a quality inspector at Huazhuo, leveraged his solid expertise to keenly observe that the scrap material at the bottom of the delivered vehicle exhibited significantly inferior quality compared to the surface raw materials—raising suspicions of blending or uneven distribution. In response to the supplier's objection, he did not hesitate; he first completed an initial rapid test and then proactively carried out a second verification test. The results of both tests were highly consistent, thereby accurately confirming the true quality of the raw materials.

Through rigorous financial accounting, this stringent quality inspection successfully prevented the entry of inferior raw materials into the warehouse, thereby recovering approximately 2.4 million yuan in economic losses for the company. By never relaxing in any sampling process and never overlooking any potential hazard—Wei Yuejian has solidified the raw material quality defense line through his actions, establishing himself as a benchmark for all employees to emulate.

3.Huahong Technology: One Filter Element, Upholding Our International Reputation

The loading verification of exported equipment serves as the final safeguard to ensure product quality and mitigate overseas after-sales risks.

Recently, while conducting a loading verification for a 1,000-ton packing machine supplied by a Korean client, Zhao Fangming, an inspector in the heavy-duty workshop, identified a critical potential hazard: the spare filter cartridges procured by the client at their own expense were incompatible with the operational parameters of the retrofitted equipment. In the original equipment configuration, the oil return filtration system consisted of dual filter units, whereas in the retrofitted version, it consisted of a single filter unit; furthermore, the filter cartridge specifications had been changed from 30-mesh to 60-mesh. However, the client continued to procure spare parts based on the original equipment model. If a 30-mesh filter cartridge were incorrectly installed, it could easily fail under high-pressure operating conditions, allowing impurities to damage critical components—including the oil pump, valve assembly, and oil cylinder—thereby triggering equipment downtime and incurring substantial overseas after-sales costs. Zhao Fangming strictly adhered to the spare parts verification protocol, promptly reported the issue, and facilitated the replacement, successfully preventing the equipment from being exported in a defective state.

The quality defense line has never been a solo endeavor for the quality department: frontline operators adhere to process standards, inspectors monitor key metrics, technical teams proactively mitigate risks, and after-sales teams drive iterative improvements. A minor oversight could compromise the overall reliability of a machine, whereas a rigorous inspection can ensure operational stability for the customer on-site. "No one stands on the sidelines in quality management; every individual bears primary responsibility."

Quality accompanies you and me—a journey with no end.

From the precision in accurately identifying and thoroughly disassembling end-of-life vehicles, to Wei Yuejian's keen insight in salvaging 2.4 million yuan, and to Zhao Fangming's steadfast commitment to a single filter element in safeguarding international reputation—on the grounds of recycling and regeneration, quality has always been visible, tangible, and imbued with both responsibility and craftsmanship.
